Important vaccination information for teachers and accompanists

AMEB Qld remains a high-risk setting, similar to state schools and child care centres. COVID-19 vaccinations are mandatory for all people working, volunteering or delivering a service at our Ashgrove Studios, 9 Nathan Avenue, Ashgrove. This is a requirement of the Queensland Chief Health Officer. All visitors must follow any Chief Health Officer directives in place at the time, as required.

The direction only applies to workers and volunteers who work in, or provide a service, or volunteer their services in a high-risk setting. This includes accompanists and page turners. For example, if a relative or teacher accompanies a candidate who is undertaking an exam, they would be a service provider working in a high-risk setting and therefore, have to be fully vaccinated. While our studio has not been identified explicitly in the directive, we have received confirmation that it applies.

All visitors must adhere to visitor and sign-in arrangements. Anyone providing a service or volunteering at AMEB Studios will be required to provide their vaccination status or evidence of their medical contraindication on arrival.

AMEB supervisors will need to sight your vaccination certificate or documentation on arrival. They are doing what is required by law as part of their duties. Please be cooperative and understanding. The most convenient way to check the proof of vaccination for service providers and volunteers is to use your QR Check-in Qld application or Medicare certificate. AMEB Qld does not need to keep a copy of your vaccination certificate but we do need to record that vaccination evidence has been sighted as part of our visitor management systems.

The requirement to be fully vaccinated (double vaccination) will not apply to people who visit, access or use the service, either for themselves or as a support person for a candidate.

To keep up to date with all COVID 19 restrictions, I would suggest you visit the Queensland Government public health and social measures – coronavirus (COVID-19) page.

Venues other than AMEB Qld at 9 Nathan Avenue, Ashgrove will have their own rules and requirements. AMEB Qld proof of vaccination rules and requirements do not apply at other venues. Please contact the venue regarding their policies and requirements.

Following government easing restrictions, face masks, social distancing and venue number limits are no longer required. Please be considerate of the needs of other people and be conscious of their personal space.

The health and safety of children, staff and the broader community is our highest priority. Thank you in advance for your cooperation and understanding.
