QCE points and university entrance

From Grade 4 onwards, AMEB subjects that meet the full examination requirements can contribute points towards the Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). For details on which AMEB qualifications are recognised, please see AMEB QCE recognised studies.

  • Years 10 and 11 students: Once your school issues your Learning Unique Identifier (LUI), please provide your registration date and LUI number to the AMEB Qld State Office.
  • Year 12 students: To have AMEB qualifications count towards your QCE, you must
    1. complete your AMEB examinations by meeting the full requirements
    2. provide your LUI number to the AMEB Qld State Office by 31 October each year.

Please note that AMEB subjects are not included in the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) calculation, however some AMEB qualifications may be​ considered in the university admissions process. For advice, contact the relevant university, visit the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) website, or call QTAC on 1300 467 822.
