Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre

For students completing Year 12 in 2019, the Queensland Tertiary Admissions Centre (QTAC) may recognise Australian Music Examinations Board (AMEB) qualifications, Grade 7 and above, for the purpose of assigning a tertiary ranking for entry to some Queensland tertiary courses.

Please note that for the purpose of assigning a tertiary ranking, QTAC will require a theory component additional to the AMEB requirements. Subjects affected include the 'For Leisure' and the 'Contemporary Popular Music (CPM)' Syllabuses. For further information, please contact QTAC on (07) 3858 1222.

Queensland Certificate of Education

Certain AMEB subjects and levels have been recognised by the Queensland Curriculum and Assessment Authority (QCAA) and may contribute towards a student's Queensland Certificate of Education (QCE). The Year 12 (2019) and Year 11 (new QCE system) lists of study (PDF, 318KB) have been updated.

It is essential for students in Years 10, 11 and 12 to advise the AMEB (Qld) state office of their Learning Unique Identifier (LUI) registration date and number, which is issued through their school. This will enable the AMEB to support the transmission of eligible results directly to the QCAA.

We strongly encourage students graduating in the 2019 calendar year to complete their exam no later than Thursday 31 October 2019, to ensure their results are uploaded to QCAA on time. It is also imperative that your LUI registration date and number is supplied to the AMEB (Qld) state office by Thursday 31 October 2019.

For further information and the full list of subjects, please visit QCAA.
